“As I mature through time, I realize the profound importance of putting aside all I have learned and direct my focus on all visual expressions in society. I work in different media like oil on canvas, oil on wood, mixed media, wood carving and sculpting.”
– Boris Aptekarev
Boris Aptekarev has been Influenced by artists such as William De Kooning and inspired by the chaotic linear brush strokes of Jackson Pollock as well as the unexpected and bold definitions of Pablo Picasso. Boris has the tendency to view art as a process which enables him to extricate himself from all boundaries. Art he believes is an endorsement attempted by individuals who contradict reality in a form of space. Art is an element that must be continuously debated upon conceptions technically in depth until one may create a medium on their own. He believes the subject of Contemporary Art is analogous to the subject of truth and dare.Graduated from Moscow Syrikov State Art Academy, the same prestigious institution that graduated the finest artists of the 19th and 20th centuries like Syrikev, Repin, Levitan and Ivazevsky, the Academy , a 250 year old school of Fine Arts awarded Boris a Masters Degree in Fine Art.
